A Celebration of Whimsy and High-End Hospitality: Inside The Luxurious Marble Circus

This past weekend, the Dossier Magazine team had the pleasure of being hosted by GRID Worldwide at The Luxurious Marble Circus (LMC24) in conjunction with G&G Productions– an extraordinary two-day festival that transformed Ground the Venue in Muldersdrift into a 75,000-square-meter playground of pure indulgence. Imagine stepping into a world where every corner was crafted to captivate, surprise, and, above all, elevate what it means to attend a festival. Mia, Johan, and I were in our element.

As media, we enjoyed an exclusive media meander, which allowed us to explore every space LMC24 had to offer. The venue became a tapestry of curated experiences, each exuding character and charm. The Pantry-inspired Tasting Station, for example, turned snacking into an art form, while partner brands created enchanting spaces that harmoniously wove into the festival’s luxurious narrative. Each of us received a media card that allowed us to savor drinks and food from every festival offering. Mia and I couldn’t resist the cheeseburgers – imagine the quality of The Pantry in a field setting. It felt as if we were royalty, whisked away to a faraway land. Pure delight!

The main stage was an absolute masterpiece. Over 600 hours of design work brought this three-story, plush-pink set to life, mesmerizing us with sound, lighting, pyrotechnics, and projection mapping. Although we couldn’t stay for all the acts, dancing to Mi Casa’s opening set was the perfect finale to our day. The lineup also featured the Ndlovu Youth Choir (no lies, I was so bummed to miss them), Zakes Bantwini, and the ever-energetic Major League DJz. The stage wasn’t just a platform; it was a spectacle. Spending time in the Golden Circle with our FAM favourite, Kim Jayde, while sipping on chilled Moët, was a personal highlight, amplifying the event’s sense of luxury and connection.

The food, masterminded by David Higgs and The Marble Hospitality Group, redefined festival dining. From whimsical pizzas to flavourful pregos and sushi, every bite looked like a celebration, if patrons’ faces were anything to go by! We had the privilege of visiting two of the premier lounges within the festival grounds. The Royal Lounge indulged guests with wood-fired dishes and coastal prawns, while the Grand Dining Room offered fine dining by Higgs and Reuben Riffel, paired with sweeping views of the stage.

Our media meander also introduced us to brand partners like Mercedes-Benz, Windhoek, and Veuve Clicquot, where immersive activations took centre stage. The Schweppes Uncaged Carousel, Johnny Walker Express, and Savanna SpeakEasy (three of my favourite spaces at the festival) redefined brand experiences with theatrical flair.

Reflecting on the weekend, Itumeleng Merafe of Investec, the title sponsor, summed it up perfectly: “It’s not every day that you get to be part of something this grand, something bigger than any of us could have imagined.

The Luxurious Marble Circus was more than a festival; it was an elevated experience, and we at Dossier Magazine left feeling inspired and exhilarated. We can’t wait for next year, where the bar will surely be raised even higher!
