This partnership marks a historic moment as Dictador explores new horizons by finishing its renowned Colombian aged- rum in Welsh whisky casks—a pioneering approach never before undertaken by any brand in the luxury spirits sector.
Cask Release 2024: Dictador 2 Masters Penderyn Series
The highly anticipated Dictador 2 Masters Penderyn series features two exceptional vintages: the 1991 and the 2000. The Dictador 2 Masters Penderyn Vintage 1991 (40.7% ABV / 700ML) is a rum that was distilled in 1991 and then aged for 16 months in Peated Quarter Casks at Penderyn Distillery before bottling. This limited release consists of only 413 bottles. The Dictador 2 Masters Penderyn Vintage 2000 (46.2% ABV / 700ML) is a rum that was distilled in 2000 and then matured for 16 months in PX-Sherry Casks. This release is limited to just 375 bottles.
This groundbreaking release represents a pinnacle of collaborative craftsmanship, led by Dictador’s Master Blender Hernan Parra—a third-generation member of the Parra family and custodian of their Family Reserve—and Penderyn’s Aista Phillips, the first female Master Blender in the 2Masters project. Together, they have curated a new era of luxury and taste, showcasing their expertise and establishing a new benchmark in global spirits innovation.
The 2 Masters Project: A Fusion of Distinct Expertise
The Dictador 2Masters Project exemplifies a visionary approach to spirits innovation, this time bringing together Colombian aged-rum and maturing it in carefully selected casks that previously held Welsh whisky. There are now 12 Dictador 2Masters collaborations across diverse spirit categories. Dictador has assembled a network of master artisans renowned for their unparalleled skills and dedication. Each expert, representing a distinct category of alcohol, is entrusted with specially selected barrels of Dictador rum to complete a maturation process unique to each project. The final product—Dictador rum—benefits from this extensive expertise and innovative techniques, elevating it to new heights of sophistication and refinement, thereby reinforcing the brand’s position as a leader in global spirits innovation.
