Barlume Beach — Montauk’s European Escape

Barlume Beach — Montauk’s European Escape

This summer, Montauk welcomes Barlume Beach, a new destination from LDV Hospitality that transforms the East End into a Mediterranean‑inspired retreat. More than a hotel, more than a beach club, Barlume Beach is conceived as a place where wellness, design, taste, connection, and endless nights converge — the Hamptons’ most anticipated arrival of the season.

Barlume Beach is LDV’s second act out east, following the success of Scarpetta at Gurney’s and the reopening of LDV at The Maidstone in 2024. Inspired by the Flatiron dining concept Barlume, the Montauk property extends the ethos of Mediterranean living into a full‑scale beach club. Set on 40,000 square feet overlooking Montauk Harbor, with 19 guest keys and 19 marina slips, it offers an indoor‑outdoor bar, restaurant, and lounge spaces that feel like a world apart.

“Barlume Beach represents the next chapter for LDV Hospitality,” says John Meadow, Founder & President. “We’ve spent years perfecting the art of the La Dolce Vita dining experience, and now we are bringing that same soul to a full‑scale beach club.”

Designed by Studio Tre, interiors reflect the colors of the sea and sky — turquoise tones, golden hues, copper and brass accents, spar vanish mahogany, and crisp spinnaker white paneling. Guestrooms open to marina or garden views, layered with cork floors, custom oak furniture, sailcloth taupes, Parachute linens, and Ortigia Sicilia bath products. The effect is both polished and whimsical, a European escape reframed for Montauk.

Meaning “glimmer” in Italian, Barlume embodies radiant living. The restaurant evolves with the light: Mediterranean menus by Chef Francesco Battisti by day, transitioning into “linner” and nightly musical residencies that pulse into the evening. The beach club serves as the social heart, with shared plates like Blue Crab Toast, Lobster Arrabbiata, and Plateau de Mer, alongside cocktails crafted with local ingredients. Every seat — at the bar, beneath the tent, or by the firepit — holds a view of the water.

Barlume Beach also curates experiences beyond the table: boat charters on Lake Montauk, wellness classes, and programming that balance quiet moments with lively ones. Starting Memorial Day Weekend, it promises a season of food, music, and community — a Hamptons landmark where summer is bottled into one destination.
