BRAVUR LAUNCHES CHRONOGRAPH FOR THE STYLE CONCIOUS CYCLIST

As an homage to the three Grand Tours, the biggest and most prestigious bike races in the world, Bravur has created a chronograph watch series with the same name. The series consists of three models, each model featuring colors, graphics and textures inspired by the corresponding race. First out is “La Corsa Rosa”.

Bravur has a long-lasting love a air with cycling. It was actually cycling that brought the two Bravur founders, Johan and Magnus, together when racing against each other during the ’90s.

La Corsa Rosa, which is the nick name for the Giro d'Italia, is the rst out of three models in the Grand Tour series. Race start and launch date of the watch are both set to May 8.

The sub dials carries three shades of pink, inspired by the leaders jersey of the Giro d'Italia, la maglia rosa. In contrast is the surrounding dark tarmac colored dial, featuring a tarmac like texture.

“With the Grand Tour Chronograph series, we wanted to contribute with an interpretation of a classic racing watch inspired by the strong passion and tradition found in the world of cycling. It was important for us to do this in a subtle and sophisticated way, by adding small details with cycling references to be discovered over time. We simply didn’t want to make it too obvious that it’s a cycling chronograph”, says Bravur co-founder Magnus.

The case back as well as the rotor of the Swiss made movement are decorated with a deep etched “ nish line” checker race pattern. Sapphire crystals are used both on the front and the back of the watch, meaning you will be able to admire the beautiful movement. The case back crystal has a discrete outlined map of Italy.

If looking closer at the dial, you will nd number 13 on the minute scale. It’s also positioned upside down compared to the rest of the graphics. Why? Traditionally the rider getting number 13 in a race wears the race number on the back of the jersey upside down, to counteract any bad luck.

“It was essential for us both that the watch had a good size to wear while cycling, but also that it had a functional aspect. We landed in a neat 38.2mm case diameter and a 15 min chronograph counter, making it useful for timing intervals. The perforated leather strap is not just adding a

vintage vibe, but is also providing good ventilation when riding,” says Bravur co-founder Johan.

The watches are built by hand in Båstad, Sweden, and are limited to only 50 watches. Each watch is individually numbered on the case back.

The watch will be available at bravurwatches.com from May 8, priced at $2,450.00/ SEK 24 500.
