Volvo announced a year worth of free electricity with their plug-in hybrids.

Volvo Cars has announced a ground-breaking global incentive scheme, branded the Recharge campaign, whereby the buyers of all new hybrid plug-ins  will receive a full refund for all electricity used in the first year of ownership. And the great news for South African motorists is that the Recharge campaign is also being rolled out in South Africa – meaning a year of free electricity is also available in this country.


Jaguar Land Rover engineers recently tested a self-driving prototype Jaguar I-PACE on the streets of Dubai demonstrating the company’s latest autonomous driving research technologies and giving a glimpse into the future of mobility.

Lexus will unveil its first full-electric production vehicle next month, following the recent's world premiere of its advanced concept for battery-powered vehicles that deliver unmatched driver fulfilment.

Making its world debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, the Lexus LF-30 Electrified concept points to upcoming battery-electric vehicles (BEVs) that deliver a fundamental leap in performance, handling, control and driver enjoyment.

Its technology enables integrated control of the powertrain, steering, suspension and brakes to provide the ideal vehicle posture in each situation, including provision of front, rear and all-wheel drive as required.

Let’s see if this gets made. Jaguar has unveiled its first all-electric virtual sports car – the Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo Coupé. The futuristic EV is set to join the grid as the latest addition to the Vision Gran Turismo line-up for the Gran Turismo series.

The all-electric Jaguar Vision GT Coupé has been designed and developed from the ground up taking inspiration from the brand’s incredible racing lineage. The iconic C-type and D-type influence its fearless futuristic design, while Jaguar’s I-TYPE 4 Formula E and I-PACE eTROPHY racing cars provide the technical foundations for its uncompromising racing performance.

Toyota has revealed details of a new, production-ready ultra-compact battery-electric vehicle (BEV) ahead of a planned commercial launch in Japan late next year. Development chief Akihiro Yanaka said the vehicle, which is less than 2.5 metres long and 1.3 metres wide, is a next-generation mobility solution designed to cover short distances while limiting impact on the environment.



Having made its international debut in Delhi, India in June this year, the all-new KIA Seltos compact SUV will make its South African debut in the second half of November 2019. Characterised by the distinctive design details and build quality KIA Motors is gobally renowned for, the Seltos is set to bring sophistication and assertiveness to the ever growing compact SUV segment.

Land Rover puts fans inside the New Defender on the set of No Time To Die, the 25th official James Bond film. No Time To Die is the first movie to feature the New Defender, the latest legendary vehicle to star in a James Bond car chase sequence. The New Defender has been tested by the 007 expert stunt team in the most extreme off-road conditions, demonstrating its unstoppable nature.

Lee Morrison, James Bond Stunt Co-ordinator, said: "Designing and co-ordinating the action sequences for the Bond franchise requires a non-compromising mindset. We needed an unstoppable vehicle to help us battle against the elements, steep descents and river crossings so we chose the new Defender. I'm beyond impressed that the Defender is not only back but much, much better!"
