Dossier Collaboration

For the Dossier team there is nothing as exciting as gathering a creative team in one space, and to let magic unfold, each person having the freedom to express their talents. We gathered in Neil Kirby’s studio, Colin Shandoss from Atomic Orchid styling floral “jewels’’, Arion doing hair, and make up by Stavroula Georgakis. The sublime Sophie Holmes from Boss Models captured each arrangement’s mood. To top off the spectacular team effort, Gisela Calitz retouched the final images.

Atomic orchid is a multifaceted design agency. Flowers and nature serves as the medium and vehicle for many of the various services the innovative company is known for.

At the core of the family business is flower and event design. The love of flowers was the start of a flower shop in Pretoria more than 20 years ago. .Approximately 60 000 bespoke floral compositions and 1000 events (and counting) later, Atomic orchid has blossomed into the arena of fragrance development, interior design and space architecture with apparel design next on the list.

Interior and exterior plant scapes akin to their signature floral compositions are approached with the same design philosophy.

Ikebana, couture, fine art, contemporary culture, the films of director Luca Guadagnino and of course- Mother Nature, all inspire their intrinsic approach to design and economy of materials.

For this editorial, creative director Colin Paul Shandoss chose seasonal elements and worked with colour and proportion as inspiration for wearable, fresh botanical jewellery pieces.

Inspired by the way these elements are presented in nature, without too much unnecessary intervention, the elements speak for themselves by means of contrast and juxtaposition.
