H&M × WARDROBE.NYC
Mastering the modern wardrobe
H&M announces a new designer collaboration with New York‑based luxury essentials label WARDROBE.NYC, founded by editor and stylist Christine Centenera and designer Josh Goot. The collection distills a pioneering decade of their vision into a single, definitive wardrobe — directional yet effortlessly wearable.
“We wanted to create a capsule for H&M that was true to the wardrobe concept: a timeless and honest statement that was both essential and of the moment,” says Goot. Centenera adds: “What we wanted, above all, was for all these pieces to become staples. You’re building the base of a wardrobe and mixing it back in — with things you already own and with pieces from the collection itself.”
The collaboration draws on WARDROBE.NYC’s archives to present a tight edit of archetypal urban style. Impeccably cut tailoring anchors the collection — wool coats, blazers, tailored skirts — while washed denim, padded bombers, hoodies, and fluid drawstring pants lend sophisticated ease. A series of versatile layers underpins the capsule, ensuring every piece works seamlessly with the next.
Ann‑Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor and Head of Design Womenswear at H&M, notes: “The way every shape is so well considered — you can really feel how it will be to wear one of these garments just by looking at it. These are pieces that will be in your wardrobe for a long time.”
The WARDROBE.NYC × H&M collection launches on 6 August 2026 at Sandton City and online via Superbalist, offering South African customers access to a capsule that redefines the modern wardrobe: timeless, versatile, and deeply considered.
