Hermès: Arceau Cheval Natté

The Arceau Cheval Natté is a story of Hermès weaving silk into time. Since Henri d’Origny first sketched the Arceau in 1978, the watch has stood as a signature of Hermès horlogerie — equestrian in spirit, elegant in line, and always a canvas for craft.

Designer Tong Ren’s motif, once imagined for home accessories, now finds its place on the dial. Nearly 400 silk threads are laid one by one, each in precise direction, creating relief and movement. Light plays across the woven horse’s head, revealing depth and colour in miniature fabric form.

Two interpretations emerge: one luminous, alive with vivid hues; the other intense, in black, red, and brown. Diamonds punctuate the silk, their brilliance heightened by champlevé engraving. The 38 mm rose gold case, set with 70 diamonds and a crown with one more, houses the Manufacture Hermès H1912 self‑winding movement, visible through sapphire crystal.

The dial is silk marquetry, composed of 123 diamonds, with gold‑plated hands marking hours and minutes. A dune or black matt alligator strap, crafted in Hermès workshops, completes the watch. Each version is issued in a 24‑piece limited series, making the Cheval Natté as rare as it is poetic.
