This review does not need to be long. In fact, all you need to know is that if you are tired and weary - this is just the place for you. If you feel like a completely relaxed experience in the Seychelles, La Belle Tortue is not a resort, it is a 4 star hotel that can only accommodate 20 people, to experience a space where you can totally switch off from the world.
This charming French Lodge is a 45 minute boat ride from the main island of Mahè, and situated on its own private beach cove on Silhouette Island.
The open air dining area serves fresh Creole food with a French twist, made by the resident French chef. Prepare to dine on elegant but not fussy, healthy, wholesome food, which will add to your sense of well being while vacationing. The restaurant is also the winner of the 2022 World Luxury Awards, so be prepared to be wowed as well.
You can sit on the terrace, lie in a hammock, lounge near the cutest beach bar and request anything from freshly picked lemongrass tea to local rum cocktails, and this trip will not be complete without a cocktail in the jacuzzi watching the sun set.
In the lounge, just like a private home, there is a library, travel guides or one sit for hours playing backgammon or cards.
The beach is a sheltered creek, making up a natural pool with an old pier to its side.
Go for walks as Silhouette is a tropical garden, paths leading to eden like spaces.
One excursion is Grand Barbe offers an excellent day trip with its historic ruins and breathtaking scenery. The trip to the Silhouette mountains alone is already unique, but the final destination is particularly impressive: a ghost village where giant turtles roam, a long and deserted beach where turtles nest.
Play Robinson Crusoe on a deserted island and visit one of the most beautiful beaches of Silhouette through the forest: Anse Lascars, Anse Patate, Grand Barbe … Look for the famous treasure of Jean-François Hodoul, without missing the most beautiful riches of the island: its natural wonders. Each hike can be organized and accompanied by hotel staff.
Or discover the otherworldy underwater eco-systems: observe manta rays, sea turtles, sharks and corals … Enjoy the biodiversity and magic of the sea with an experienced and friendly team.
Service and staff is very relaxed, there if you need it, but nice and low key.
This would be the perfect place to journal, write a life plan or think about life in a quiet easy going space. No noise, just the lapping of the waves.
Rooms are comfortable, crisp and clean, but you do not want to spend too much time there. This is a place for outdoor activities, snorkelling , canoeing, walking. Sitting on the loungers and contemplating life.
