Once Upon a Dram: A Highland Escape at Glenmorangie House

Once Upon a Dram: A Highland Escape at Glenmorangie House

This August and October, Glenmorangie House in Tain, Scotland unveils a limited-time experience inspired by its latest campaign, Once Upon a Time in Scotland, starring Harrison Ford. For those seeking a cinematic escape steeped in whisky and windswept landscapes, this two-night immersion traces Ford’s steps through the Highlands, from rugged coastlines to secluded lochs.

Glenmorangie House itself is a boutique retreat transformed by the single malt scotch brand into a sensory haven, where bold design meets authentic Scottish charm. Created by the visionary Russell Sage Studio—also behind The Fife Arms—the House features six uniquely styled rooms and three charming cottages. Its recent recognition with a Michelin Key award affirms its standing as a premier destination in the Highlands.

Guests are welcomed with a bottle of Glenmorangie The Infinita 18 Years Old, Ford’s personal favourite, placed in-room upon arrival. From there, the itinerary unfolds with a private guided tour and exclusive tasting at the nearby Glenmorangie Distillery, deep within one of its traditional dunnage-style warehouses. Evenings bring a Highland dinner accompanied by bagpipes, live music, and a garden teepee mixology masterclass—an homage to spirited Scottish celebration.

A half-day excursion to Loch Glass, one of the campaign’s cinematic backdrops, adds a layer of enchantment, while guests also have the option to commission a custom-made kilt from Geoffrey Tailor and Kiltmaker, blending tradition with personal expression.

Priced at $2,440 USD, the experience runs on two select weekends: August 29–31 and October 3–5. Bookings can be made by contacting relax@glenmorangie.co.uk.

It’s a rare invitation to see Scotland through the lens of cinematic legend, surrounded by the richness of flavour, heritage, and Highland hospitality.
