Opel Mokka wow us!
Hey Opel, what happened?
We don’t want to say outright that we at Dossier are car snobs, but may it suffice to say that we as a team come from generations of car aficionados. My dad drove Porsches and my mom loved her Lancia Delta Coupe in navy to which my dad added a red pin stripe detail in the 80’s. Then it was an array of BMW’s and a SL’s and on it went. We as a family have had everything from Rangers to Cherokees. My son just got married and his husbands’ vows was “I promise to talk to you about cars, even though I don’t know anything about them”, and I got a lump in my throat. The other son has started a trucking logistics company. Cars are in our DNA. I even lived in Stuttgart so my kid’s father could work at Mercedes Benz. We love cars. End of story.
So, our standards are hig, when it comes to cars. And I have never liked an Opel. Until this hot number was delivered for us to test drive - THE OPEL MOKKA. Wow, did Opel make a huge jump from their last model to this!
The Opel logo on the front is fiercely black, and the design team did not stop at that. The whole car is just pure design form at its finest. From the visor panels to the seamless head light design, to the tail light lines and the great font they chose for MOKKA. It is on every level, the most beautifully, artistically designed car of the year. Everywhere we stopped, people came to ask to look and we stood discussing the car in parking lots with many strangers. On the road, everyone looked. I think the whole world feels like us, this is a big change from the Opels we knew before. This is desirable. It’s fierce. Urban. Sexy.
Opel’s MOKKA GS is their take on a smaller SUV that has everything you want. 17” alloy wheels, high gloss and bi-colour. Full multimedia with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto that connects easily and without fuss. Black is our favourite colour and we have it on the roof, the black headliner, and a dark tinted rear window. The Active Lane Assist is responsive, matrix LED headlamps and cruise control all worked so effortlessly.
Well, I be damned! Opel, you did it! One hot car.
