PICHULIK

PICHULIK’S Spring / Summer 2020 collection is entitled PLENTY.

The word PLENTY invokes the notion of abundance without excess - and this is exactly what Creative Director and jewellery designer, Katherine-Mary Pichulik and womenswear designer, Nadya von Stein wanted the collection to embody.

Continuing our journey with PICHULIK’s female protagonist, this 15th instalment of the South African design studio’s narrative, sees our heroine arrive at a new phase of worthiness, wonder and abundance. She uncovers an oasis in the desert, a sacred sanctuary, carved by master sculptor, the wind. A celebration unfolds during the balmy summer’s day, culminating in a deepening of truth through a ceremony under the all-knowing sacred moon.

Each consecutive PICHULIK collection captures a different chapter in our heroine’s journey. An odyssey imbued with mythology, symbolism and transformation. PICHULIK’s Fall Winter 2019 collection, entitled Harvest Moon, embodied the adventurous spirit of a young woman seeking self- expression. PLENTY marks her transformation into a place of serenity and gratitude. It is about sharing one’s bounty with reverence and abundance. It is about mindfulness, accountability and inclusivity.

Part of PICHULIK DNA, is collaborating with other African women ateliers and designers. In PLENTY they co-create with Heather Moore of Skinny laMinx in a fresh fabric design entitled Rooftop Garden. This limited edition version of the print is available in the tie crop, wrap dress, a line mini and statement suit combo.

For hair accessories and hats, we partnered with Crystal Birch and The Hat Factory with a selection of voluminous, styled Alice bands and tie-scrunchies, mimicking the curve of the womenswear frill skirts.
