When EXC Studios joined forces with Dossier Magazine in April 2025, it marked the beginning of a new chapter in storytelling, where fashion, lifestyle, and culture converge with cinematic flair. So, when Fashion Week arrived, it was only fitting that our ride matched the occasion. Enter the 2025 Volkswagen Touareg R-Line: a striking machine that fused style, sophistication, and power in perfect harmony. And what a blue it was; not just any shade, but the kind that stops conversations mid-sentence. Pulling up to Fashion Week in this Touareg wasn’t simply arriving; it was making an entrance. Heads turned, phones flashed, and the energy shifted. The Touareg didn’t blend in, it commanded attention.
For the first two days, our co-pilot was none other than Leon Johann Haasbroek, Managing Editor of Dossier. Leon invited EXC Studios to collaborate on a proof-of-concept shoot for Dossier TV, and the Touareg proved to be the perfect third companion. Between locations, we cruised in comfort: massage seats melting away stress, a premium sound system curating the soundtrack, and cityscapes rolling past like a cinematic backdrop.
Inside, the Touareg feels less like a vehicle and more like an executive suite fused with a private jet cockpit. The dashboard is a masterclass in design and tech; a digital cockpit so sleek it could have been dreamt up by Bond’s Q. Navigation projected onto the windscreen? Yes, please. Every detail was engineered to keep you immersed in the drive without distraction.
And the drive itself? Sublime. The V6 engine delivered effortless power, gliding us through Joburg’s bustle and along the M1 with poise and authority. Each turn of the wheel was an exercise in confidence: stable, smooth, and stylish. This wasn’t just getting from point A to B - it was redefining the journey.
Luxury lived in the details. Ambient lighting sculpted the mood. A whisper-quiet cabin made the city fade away. Heated seats easing you into a massage that felt like your own concierge on call. More than once, we caught ourselves reluctant to step out; the Touareg made the ride as memorable as the destination.
