Vuitton is California Dreaming

Louis Vuitton's California Dream, just launched worldwide.

The latest cologne is the latest in Louis Vuitton's West Coast-inspired series created by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. 

Travel. Always and forever. That has been the Vuitton world. At this moment in time, travel is rare - but sensory journey is very much alive with the new captivating Cologne by Louis Vuitton called California Dream. The promise of happy summer’s day in a bottle.

“My starting point was to create warmth that envelops coolness,” explains Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. “There’s always that contrast of how to blend explosive freshness with softer notes that will allow the paradox to express itself fully on the skin. The mandarin has as many facets as the sky at sundown. There’s citrus, but also a oral aspect in addition to the pleasure of the fruit. It creates a horizon
that musks elongate with warmth. Ambrette has accents of moist earth and pear. Benzoin has a soft, crackling heat. It’s the last light of day that heralds the delights of the night to come.”

Louis Vuitton also its continues dialogue with the artist Alex Israel, who also designed the perfumes Sun Song, Cactus Garden andAfternoon Swim in his emblematic works. Israel is a multimedia artist anchored in the modernity of the world around him and uses every available vector to express his art. A Los Angeles native, he is strongly in uenced by his hometown, a place of incredible contrast aptly named the City of Angels, where the sky he loves to paint is truly unique.

The California sky is his ignite passion. He paints it tirelessly, on canvas or across entire walls, just as Hollywood sets were once painted to be lmed in Technicolor.
He’s titled these works “Sky Backdrop”, and his signature motif now adorns the packaging of the new perfume California Dream. “Sky Backdrop” also graces the glass perfume bottle itself, rendered subtly iridescent in a palette of transparent pink evaporating into twilight blue. The new, dreamlike fragrance California Dream captures a corner of the sky.
