Where to stay in Copenhagen - Nimb Hotel
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Copenhagen, with the enchanting Tivoli Gardens as its backdrop, Nimb Hotel is where Scandinavian urban luxury meets timeless Danish design and impeccable service. Since 1909, this iconic destination has evolved from a celebrated restaurant into a haven, offering a one-of-a-kind experience that captures the magical spirit of Tivoli. Boasting 38 elegantly designed rooms, world-class dining options, a serene wellness retreat, and a rooftop bar with a pool, Nimb Hotel is the ultimate escape for both relaxation and adventure.
The Location
Nimb Hotel stands in Tivoli Gardens, one of the world’s oldest amusement parks, opened in 1843. Founded by Georg Carstensen, Tivoli has become a cultural landmark, blending classic attractions with world-class entertainment. The park features manicured gardens with lush greenery, scenic paths, and tranquil lakes, and changes throughout the year to offer different experiences. In autumn, Tivoli is transformed with more than 40,000 pumpkins and special scenic setups for Halloween. During the winter months, it becomes a true winter wonderland with Christmas trees, an ice skating rink, and millions of lights. Visitors have access to over 50 classical concerts annually, modern art installations, jazz festivals, ballet performances, and the scenic beauty of Tivoli Lake. As it celebrates its 181st anniversary in 2025, Tivoli continues to offer a dynamic fusion of history, natural beauty, and contemporary culture. All guests of Nimb Hotel have access to Tivoli Gardens, along with ride passes to experience the park's attractions.
Details and Design
Nimb Hotel boasts individually designed rooms and suites, ranging from 23 m² to 240 m², each thoughtfully curated for a home-away-from-home experience. The rooms feature a perfect blend of clean Nordic lines, hand-picked artwork, and antiques from the Far East. The hotel’s bespoke canopy beds, paired with bespoke, handwoven cotton linens from Geismars, guarantee a restful and indulgent sleep. Guests can purchase the signature Nimb bed linen collection from the hotel’s in-house boutique, offering guests a piece of the hotel’s experience to take home. The spacious bathrooms are fitted with Agape bathtubs and sinks, while the fixtures and showers are from TONI's Christiansborg range, originally designed for Copenhagen’s Christiansborg Palace in 1884. Rooms also feature Bang & Olufsen AV equipment, Apple TV, and yoga mats, ensuring comfort and entertainment at every turn. Many rooms offer views of Tivoli Gardens, with some featuring fireplaces and private balconies. For those seeking a personal touch, Nimb Wellness offers access to personal trainers and yoga instructors for a tailored wellness experience.
The hotel's design harmonises Moorish-inspired architecture with contemporary Danish design. Originally completed in 1909 by architect Knud Arne-Petersen, Nimb underwent a significant refurbishment in 2007, with Italian architect Matteo Thun restoring the façade in Italian marble stucco. In 2017, the hotel expanded with the addition of Tivoli Corner, designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, which added 2,000 square metres, including 21 new rooms and the rooftop terrace with a pool. Inside, Nimb’s spaces blend hand-upholstered furnishings from Denmark, England, and Belgium with antiques and global art, including works by Cathrine Raben Davidsen, Richardt Branderup, John Loring, and Harry Benson.

In the summer months, Nimb Roof becomes a vibrant spot to enjoy sunsets, drinks, live music and a calendar of exclusive events.
