Institut Esthederm’s New Excellage Range:Scientifically Advanced Skincare Technology for More Mature and Ageing Skin

Institut Esthederm, the luxurious French skincare brand which is globally known for its advanced expertise in cellular skin science, recently launched their most advanced skincare range yet -the Excellage Range, targeting all anti-aging concerns.

Understanding the ageing process, is how they can produce products to combat problems. The skin is an ever-changing eco-system that constantly uses its communication channels - a system of cellular connections that enables the cells to interact with one another and with its environment - to respond to, adapt and maintain different skin functions. These communication channels are formed by connexins, small membrane proteins involved in regulating the vital functioning of cells (including respiration, nutrition, protection, regeneration, pH maintenance, concentrations in mineral salts and hormonal responses).

As skin naturally matures, the skin's needs also change. The skin’s vital functions are disrupted and weakened by factors linked to ageing (including internal and/or external stressors), which is characterised by impaired connexin expression which results in the acceleration of skin slackening, dehydration and loss of radiance.

Innovation: Excellage

The Excellage Range was created using a Smart Polysaccharide-based formulation, a biotechnological sugar derivative that helps to restructure the skin by improving the skin’s micro-relief and the communication between epidermal cells, which, over time, improves epidermal thickness, increases collagen production and enhances skin texture.

The Institut Esthederm Excellage Range provides a three-step skincare routine for more mature skin to effectively treat more mature and ageing skin. Each product within the range – which includes the Excellage Serum, Eye Contour Cream and Face Cream - is formulated with the active ingredient Camellia Oil. Camellia Oil is a multi-faceted rejuvenating oil concentrate rich in Omega-3, -6 and -9 which delivers reinforced nutrition and comfort to the skin. Used together, this trio of products in the Excellage Range can deliver astounding results to boost the skin's beauty by offering a triple benefit: radiance, density and nutrition.

The Excellage Serum (RRP: R2,035): a luxurious Serum-Cream that instantly works towards restoring the skin's elasticity, evens out the skin’s complexion and provides nourishing comfort for a more radiant glow.

The Excellage Face Cream (RRP: R1,792): an anti-ageing moisturiser with a pleasant velvety touch strengthens the skin’s epidermal barrier and restores chronological, hormonal and environmental ageing. The skin is left feeling intensely nourished and deeply comforted.

The Excellage Eye Contour (RRP: R1,712): allows for a more rested, youthful and radiant complexion. By targeting the cell level and working towards the skin’s surface, it works to reduce puffiness and dark circles and smooths out fine lines and wrinkles.
