FUJIFILM announces GFX Challenge Grant Program 2025
In a move that underscores its commitment to fostering artistic excellence and visual innovation, FUJIFILM Corporation has announced the GFX Challenge Grant Program 2025. The initiative invites local photographers and videographers to explore the boundaries of storytelling, guided by the unparalleled capabilities of the FUJIFILM GFX System.
Following the global success of Cape Town’s Jodi Windvogel—whose 2023 project “The Body at Risk” dissected the physical and emotional landscapes marked by gender-based violence—South African creatives are being urged to submit proposals that challenge, provoke and connect. The program offers two tiers of support: five Global Grant Awards of $10,000 and ten Regional Grant Awards of $5,000. Both grants come with access to a GFX System camera body and two GF lenses, technical mentorship from Fujifilm’s experts and international exposure for completed work.
Windvogel’s experience articulates the deeper potential of such a grant. “Being selected affirmed not only the importance of the work itself but also that the experiences of those affected were being acknowledged and taken seriously on a global platform,” she said. Her words echo the program’s deeper aim—not merely to produce beautiful imagery, but to surface narratives that matter.
Photographers and videographers are invited to submit their project proposals by 31 August 2025. Selected work will be exhibited around the world and on the Fujifilm-X website. For creators seeking to transform a personal vision into a universal message, this may be the moment to do so.
Photographers and videographers looking to enter the GFX Challenge Grant Program 2025 are able to do so until 31 August 2025. All details needed are available at the GFX Challenge Grant Program website: https://www.fujifilm-x.com/global/special/gfx-challenge-program/2025
