Gucci Opens a Refreshed Store at Cape Town's V&A Waterfront
Gucci has opened a new store at the V&A Waterfront, giving its Cape Town home a full rethink after more than a decade and a half at the address.
The House isn't new to the Waterfront. Its first store there opened in 2008, making Gucci one of the established names in what has become one of the city's go-to luxury destinations. The new space builds on that history rather than starting from scratch, offering a more current take on the brand in a familiar spot.
The design approach is all about how the space fits together. Instead of one big open floor, the store is laid out as a series of distinct but connected areas, each with its own character but tied together by a shared visual language. The idea is to let shoppers move through the House's collections as one continuous experience, with architecture, materials and design working in step.
According to Gucci, the new environment reflects the brand's evolving aesthetic, and the store is set up to showcase its collections across categories in a single, cohesive setting.
For Cape Town shoppers and the steady flow of visitors through the Waterfront, it's a refreshed version of a long-standing local fixture.
