Portrait of Korean Living
Korean design exhibition at 3daysofdesign
Three Korean design brands – rareraw, ILKW, and flat point – unveil a curated selection of furniture and lighting at 3daysofdesign 2026 this June in Copenhagen. United in the collaborative exhibition – Portrait of Korean Living – the showcase examines the attitudes, material sensibilities, and cultural perspectives shaping contemporary Korean design. The exhibition is designed by Swiss creative studio Gini Moynier.
Portrait of Korean Living
10–12 June Borgergade 15E 1300, Copenhagen
While each brand presents its own distinctive approach, the joint exhibition brings them together to reflect a shared perspective on how everyday objects shape the way we live, inhabit space, and interact with our surroundings.
The brand rareraw approaches furniture not as a finished object but as a structural unit that shapes space through its modular systems, exploring spatial frameworks that can flexibly expand and evolve within changing environments. ILKW presents lighting that combines function with precise craftsmanship rooted in a long tradition of light bulb production, emphasizing the atmosphere and balance that light creates within a space. flat point designs furniture that integrates seamlessly with its surrounding space, where restrained lines, balanced proportions, and refined minimalism allow each piece to function as a defining point within the environment. Through their distinct approaches, the three brands interpret Korean design sensibilities in different ways, collectively presenting a multidimensional portrait of contemporary Korean living through the relationships between structure, light, and objects.
Adding a poetic dimension to the exhibition, the works of Jieun Lee, a Seoul-based painter, depict scenes of everyday life. Her paintings serve as a quiet narrative thread within the exhibition, linking the objects on display to the rhythms of daily life and offering a reflective glimpse into Korean culture.

– inspired by Seoul
Portrait of Korean Living is designed and art directed by the Swiss creative studio Gini Moynier.
In the exhibition, Gini Moynier explores the richness and distinctiveness of contemporary Korean design culture. To articulate this vision, the studio developed a scenographic framework centred on the idea of a living space inhabited by a Korean individual living abroad. This narrative reveals both the connections and the singularities between Korean and European cultures, allowing design objects to be experienced within the context of everyday life rather than as isolated pieces.
“With the exhibition concept, we want to illustrate how contemporary Korean design shapes everyday life through the way objects, space, and atmosphere come together. Our scenography is inspired by Seoul, and with the poetic paintings of Jieun Lee, the exhibition invites visitors to experience a layered portrait of Korean sensibilities, where modern design meets quiet traces of tradition.” – Gini Moynier
Through this curatorial approach, the exhibition highlights the conditions that shape this creative landscape: the strong industrial capabilities available to Korean companies, combined with an active engagement in shaping contemporary design culture.
About rareraw
rareraw is a modular furniture brand that moves beyond fixed forms, allowing its systems to be flexibly interpreted between structure and sensibility.
Rather than viewing furniture as a finished object, rareraw understands it as a structural unit that shapes space. Each module functions as part of a framework that evolves through use, interaction, and context. Through this approach, furniture becomes an active element within the spatial environment, responding to both functional needs and aesthetic intentions.
At the center of this philosophy is SYSTEM000, rareraw’s signature modular shelving system. The system is designed to support changing environments and contemporary lifestyles. Built with precision-engineered steel components, SYSTEM000 extends beyond conventional shelving to function as a flexible spatial structure. The system can divide, organize, and define interiors while maintaining an open framework that allows continuous expansion and reinterpretation.
By focusing on modularity, material precision, and thoughtful proportions, rareraw proposes a flexible design language that balances structure with sensibility. As spaces evolve, the system adapts, inviting users to reinterpret its possibilities and gradually complete their own configuration over time.
About ILKW
The originality of ILKW comes from its vision to build a contemporary lighting brand that fully embodies customer value, rooted in its long history as a light bulb manufacturer and the expertise built over decades.
Founded in 1962 in Daegu, South Korea, ILKW was a light bulb manufacturer that produced incandescent bulbs for more than half a century. In 2007, as the global phase-out of incandescent bulbs marked a turning point, ILKW chose not to remain within its existing field but to expand its identity. Building on its long-standing craftsmanship, the company expanded into lighting.
Drawing from its deep understanding of light, ILKW redefined itself as a lighting brand created by a light bulb company. Inspired by the architecture, design, and art of the 1960s, ILKW embodies clean forms, balanced proportions, and a warm quality of light, bringing together technical expertise and emotional value.
Guided by the mission “We contribute to the world through light” and the slogan “We make
light,” ILKW develops lighting that adds warmth to everyday life, with Long-life design and Affordable luxury as its core values.

About flat point
flat point is guided by the philosophy “Flatness is the Point” and creates interior pieces that naturally harmonize with their surroundings. This harmony goes beyond mere simplicity to become a distinct “point,” enriching the value of a space through restrained beauty. flat point does not follow fleeting trends; it explores the enduring value of design that remains meaningful over time. To achieve this, it carefully considers the order created by lines and planes, as well as the balance of proportions, proposing forms that function naturally within a space and maintain a lasting presence.
flat point focuses not only on exploring various design styles but also on a deeper investigation into materials and methods of making. It values the inherent texture and physical qualities of materials, as well as the precision of the processes used to realize them. At the intersection where aesthetic sensibility meets engineering precision, flat point seeks to define its own unique meaning and identity. Through subtle details that emerge from restrained beauty, and the quiet, comfortable moments discovered within them, it aims to create a new balance between objects and space. This is the direction that flat point strives to pursue.
