The Rolex Driver's Club -Goodwood Revival UK
The Goodwood Revival is one of the greatest historic motoring spectacles in the world. Taking place in the heart of the English countryside, the three-day marvel provides racing enthusiasts with a nostalgic journey back to the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. Since 2004, Rolex has shared the Goodwood Revival’s commitment to honouring past innovations and motor sport traditions. This year, Rolex celebrates its 20th anniversary as the Official Timepiece of the Goodwood Revival and Title Sponsor of the Rolex Drivers’ Club – a sanctuary where time stands still and the sport’s heroes can cherish a bygone era.
A regular competitor at the Goodwood Revival who is often found reminiscing with his fellow Rolex Testimonees and other racing legends in the Rolex Drivers’ Club is nine- time 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen. He reflects: “Rolex is the perfect match as Title Sponsor of the Drivers’ Club and it’s fantastic to see them marking 20 years of their partnership. The Rolex Drivers’ Club lies at the heart of the Goodwood Revival – it’s where all the good stories and camaraderie between drivers unfolds and where everyone reflects on the past. Rolex’s support of the event and this space is integral to its magical atmosphere – it gives drivers a sense of honour to be in such a special place with a brand that has a deep association with motor sport.”
Featuring theatrical displays, spectacular period dress and inspiring craft demonstrations, the Goodwood Revival is a magical step back in time. Nestled within the event is the Rolex Drivers’ Club. With a stirring air of nostalgia and anticipation, it provides a second home for motor sport luminaries and their families, as they enthuse on timeless tales from across the decades. Revealed only days before the celebrations begin, the Rolex Drivers’ Club has a meticulously curated theme set by the Duke of Richmond. Each year, it captivates the drivers and spectators in attendance with its many surprises that bring it to life, creating a truly immersive experience.
Sir Jackie Stewart, a Rolex Testimonee and three-time FIA Formula 1® Drivers’ World Champion, is one of the legends who regularly attends the Revival. Reflecting on the harmonious relationship that the Swiss watchmaker and the Goodwood Revival has shared over the past two decades, he says: “Rolex has a significant history in motor sport, and it has shown its appreciation for the sport and this event through the Rolex Drivers’ Club. A one-of-a-kind place and one that’s very dear to me, it keeps the magic of racing alive. Every year, the Duke of Richmond and his team expertly create and preserve the glamour, style and spirit of the past. It’s a privilege to attend and get swept up in the extraordinary detail of such a unique event.”
