Ultimate Inspiration: Fabien Baron

Ultimate Inspiration: Fabien Baron

It is almost impossible to think that one person can achieve this much in a career. I am almost fearful to do a tribute post, such is my respect for this man. From designing the most iconic packaging of our time, to redesigning and relaunching five magazines to great success, creating the most elegant typography in fashion, being the master of fashion logos to photographing some of the best fashion of the last 30 years - and then for fun he shoots landscapes. One project taking him to icebergs, which he flash lit and shot on Leica. He has been the creative vision behind Calvin Klein, Balenciaga and Burberry, an exhausting list. His bold typography has been much revered and copied. Baron grew up in Paris, where his father was an art director for various French newspapers. At age 20, he landed a job at GQ. Soon after he was working for Vogue Italia and - the Baron avalanche started. He reinvented US Harpers Bazaar in the 1990’s in what was one of the most exciting magazine moments ever. Interview Magazine followed and he started his own design agency called Baron&Baron. Furniture design, eyewear & packaging - he has changed the way we see the world. Spending time on his website and immersing oneself in it, is a must for every creative. http://www.baron-baron.com
