In 2026, Ulysse Nardin celebrates two milestones: 180 years of watchmaking innovation and 25 years of the Freak, one of the most unconventional creations in contemporary horology. To mark the occasion, the Manufacture unveils the new generation Freak X — a fully reengineered evolution of the model first introduced in 2019.

More compact, more advanced, and more refined, the latest Freak X translates the radical spirit of the original into a design created for everyday wear. Now housed in a redesigned 41 mm case, reduced from 43 mm, the watch is powered by the entirely new in‑house UN‑232 calibre. True to the Freak’s identity, the movement itself tells the time: a flying carousel indicates the minutes, while a rotating disc displays the hours.

For the first time in a Freak X, the calibre features a DIAMonSIL escapement, an oversized silicon balance wheel, a silicon hairspring, and an integrated rose gold micro‑rotor. Despite its slimmer architecture, it delivers a 72‑hour power reserve. The case has been reworked for daily practicality, with a screw‑down crown, water resistance to 100 metres, and a new glassbox sapphire crystal offering a panoramic view of the movement. A quick‑release interchangeable strap system adds versatility, with options in metal bracelet, rubber, and leather.

Available in Grey, Blue, and Gold versions, the new Freak X embodies Ulysse Nardin’s appetite for challenging convention. It is high horology made wearable, advanced materials made tactile, and radical design made timeless.
